All while re-reading this second entry in Anne McCaffrey's Tower and Hive series, I couldn't help but wonder if the author was attempting a commentary on, or some twisted parody of, the concept of the Bechdel Test, which asks if two women in a work of fiction discuss with each other, or relate to each other over, anything besides a man.
