Eve Kenin's first novel in this series, 'Driven', was a great read. Set in the future in the inhospitable, icy Northern Waste, the characters and situations were fresh and enjoyable. 'Hidden', the second in the series, follows events for Tatiana, sister of Wizard, the hero of the first novel. That said, Kenin's real strength is her character development. Glad to see I'm not the only one who liked this! As Eve Kenin she writes speculative drivdn. Follow the Author. But again, it really picked up once they were on the road and then in the Waste, and I can't wait to see what happens in Hidden. Driven is an exciting story set in a futuristic world of snow and ice where the heroine, Raina Bowen, has had to learn to be self-sufficient, to trust no-one and form no close friendships. She drives a rig transporting grain across the vast icy Northern Waste but, like other independent rig drivers, is at risk from the Pirates as well as the organized trucking gang, the Jansons.

Hidden is a wonderful, action paced science fiction tale about the survival of the fittest. Eve Kenin has a way of writing strong characters and a setting that grabs you and won't let go, right up till the last page.
